Jeff Lanning played for the Waterloo Bucks during the 2006 and 2007 seasons as a catcher.  Jeff wasraised in Ankeny, IA and went to play for Ankeny High School before heading to college. He ended up playing for the University of Nebraska before transferring to the University of New Orleans for his final year of college.  He was awarded the Sun Belt Conference All-Star in 2008 while his time with New Orleans. Jeff is 6’2" and 210lbs and hits and bats right handed.

Jeff went on to play for the Bucks in roughly 86 games.  In those games he posted up some solid stats.  He ended with a 0.286 batting average in 318 at-bats with 91 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 38 runs batted in, 45 strike outs, 32 walks, and 8 stolen bases. 

After playing for the Bucks, Jeff ended up getting drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2008 Amateur Draft (8th round, #246).  He played for the Twins system for a season with the Beloit Snappers and Elizabethton Twins before being signed by the Phillies in 2010. Jeff currently plays for the Lakewood BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League (Single A).

Jeff has played in 177 games so far in the minors.  In 566 at-bats, he has 144 hits, 36 doubles, 2 triples, 19 home runs, 80 runs batted in, 141 strike outs, 54 walks, and 5 stolen bases.
