This week, we are catching up with former Buck Tom Boleska. Tom played for the Waterloo Bucks during the 2007 season.  He was born in Montreal, Quebec and played for Notre Dame High School in Burlington, Ontario. After high school, he went to play at High Point University in North Carolina.  Tom is a 6’0" 190lb reliever who throws right handed.

\"\"Tom had only pitched one season for the Waterloo Bucks, but had some strong stats while suiting up in the blue and gold.  As a Buck, Tom had a 1-1 record with 8 saves, a 1.95 ERA, 14 walks, 42 strike outs, in 21 games and 27.2 innings pitched.

After playing for the Bucks, Tom was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2007 Amateur Draft (35th round, #1054th overall).  Since being drafted by the Pirates, Tom has made it into the AA two times in his career. In May of 2011, the Pirates released Tom in favor of another pitcher after having a slow start.

In the minors, Tom has had consistently good numbers.  Overall, his record was 9-9 with 12 saves, a 2.73 ERA, 48 walks, and 154 strike outs in 103 games and 191 innings.

Tom Boleska will always be remembered as a Waterloo Buck and we wish him the best on his future endeavors.  It will be intriguing to see if anyone picks him up this upcoming 2012 season.
