Waterloo, IA – Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Gunner Johnson to a temporary contract for the 2012 season. Johnson comes to the Bucks from Staples-Motley High School and Iowa Lakes Community College where he just finished his Sophomore season.

This season for the Lakers, the 5’11" 170 pounder made 11 relief appearances while compiling a 3.18 ERA and 5-5 record. In 56.2 innings pitched, the Staples, Minnesota native struck out 72 batters and walked just 27. Per inning, he averaged 1.27 strikeouts.

Tonight, the Bucks begin a two-game set with the St. Cloud Rox. First pitch tonight is set for 6:35 tonight as well as tomorrow.
