Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League have announced the signing of infielder, Connor McCallum. McCallum comes to the Bucks from the Mavericks of Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. The left-handed hitter just finished his freshman season as a member of the Mavericks. The Mavs were one win shy of the finals of the Division II College World Series this season and set a single-season record in wins with 51.

This season for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Champions, the Shoreview, Minnesota native hit .320 in 44 games while making 40 starts. McCallum tallied 41 hits in 128 at-bats including six doubles and three home runs while slugging .438. He crossed plate 21 times and brought in 17 RBI. 

In high school, McCallum was a three-year letter winner for the Hill-Murray Pioneers, a two-year all-conference winner as well as being named First team All-Metro Star Tribune. As a senior, he was named first team All-State Pioneer Press and Lions All-Star. Connor hit .578 with 37 hits, three home runs, 33 RBI and 21 runs scored. His junior year stats included a .470 batting average, 32 hits, two home runs, and 28 RBI while being named all-state honorable mention and second team all-metro. Born April 1, 1993, he is the son of Jeff and Cindy McCallum.

Friday, the Bucks continue a six-game home stand with the fourth game of a five-game series against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. The final game of the series will be Saturday. First pitch for both Friday and Saturday are set for 6:35 p.m. Gates will open at 5:00 both nights for happy hours.
