Waterloo, IA – Former Waterloo Bucks infielder Ryan Goins and pitcher Lenny Linsky will play in the Arizona Fall League during professional baseball’s off-season.  Goins will play for the Salt River Rafters, while Linsky will play for the Phoenix Desert Dogs.

The left-handed hitting Goins, who played with Waterloo in 2008, was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the fourth round of the 2008 MLB Amateur Entry Draft. The Round Rock, Texas native has worked his way up through Toronto’s minor league system since 2008. In 2012, Goins played the entire season with the Double A New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League where he was named a mid-season All-Star.  For the season, Goins hit .289 with seven home runs, 61 RBI, and 15 stolen bases.
 
A Dallas Baptist University product, Goins led Waterloo with a .318 batting average and a team high 12 doubles in 2008. Goins was a mid-season NWL All-Star and was named to Baseball America’s Top 10 MLB prospects of the Northwoods League list. 
 
Linsky, \"\"a right-handed pitcher, played with the Bucks in 2009. Linsky was drafted in the second round of the 2011 MLB Amateur Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Palos Verdes, California native started this past season in Rookie ball playing in the Gulf Coast League before being moved up to Single A.  Finishing the season with the Charlotte Stone Crabs of the Florida State League, Linsky ended 2012 with a combined 1-2 record, a 2.78 ERA, and 13 strikeouts with three saves.
 
A product of the University of Hawaii, Linsky made 18 appearances for Waterloo in 2009, finishing with a 0-6 record and a 5.03 ERA. In eight starts, the righty struck out 31 batters.
