Willmar (MN) The Waterloo Bucks fell behind 10-0 after the first three innings and their comeback fell short in a 14-7 loss at Bill Taunton Stadium to the Willmar Stingers on Wednesday night.  Connor McClain drove in three runs and Marcos Calderon had two RBI in what is only the 12th loss of the season for the Bucks.

Calderon, David Kerian, Will Sparks and Chesny Young all had two hits in the loss.

After falling behind 10-0 after three innings, the Bucks mounted a rally with three runs in the fourth inning on a Sparks’ RBI single and McClain two-run double.

However, Willmar came back with a pair in the fifth to make it 12-3.

Again, Waterloo plated two runs in the seventh on a Calderon two-run double and cut the deficit to 12-5, but Willmar answered back with two of their own to make it 14-5 after seven innings.

The Bucks scored two more in the eighth but the rally stopped at 14-7.

The loss ends a four-game winning streak and is the first of the season in five meetings against Willmar.
