Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced the departure of Assistant General Manager/Director of Stadium Operations Kendall Hughson.  Hughson, who was a member of Waterloo’s front office since February of 2012, has accepted a General Manager position in the league with the Alexandria Blue Anchors.

“I would like to thank the Waterloo Bucks organization and the fans for the past two seasons,” said Hughson.  “It has been a privilege to work in such a great baseball community and I know the team has a great 2014 season in the works.”

Hughson joined the Bucks in early-2012 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Minnesota State University.  During the summer of 2010, Hughson was a Stadium Operations intern with Waterloo.

“Kendall has been a large part of our success the past two years,” said Bucks General Manager Dan Corbin.  “He will be missed, but at the same time, we are excited for his new opportunity in Alexandria.  The NWL is a developmental league for not only players, but also front office members.  With that said, it has been a pleasure to work with him and watch him grow as a member of our team.  We wish him nothing but the best of luck and look forward to working with him in his new role as GM of the Blue Anchors.”

The Bucks will be back in action in late-spring of 2014.  The 2014 Northwoods League schedule is expected to be released this fall.

The Waterloo Bucks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.  Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.  A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including MLB All-Stars Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYY), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).  All league games are viewable live and free of charge via the Northwoods League YouTube channel.  For more information, visit www.waterloobucks.com.
