Thunder Bay's struggles against the Bucks in recent years have been well documented. They managed to break a 29 inning scoring drought in game one of the series, but went back to their scoreless ways in game two, as AJ Puk and the Bucks shut out the Border Cats 4-0.

Puk was excellent in his pitching debut, allowing just one hit and no runs over three and two thirds innings of work. He walked five, though he struck out five, as well. Brent Jurceka came in to relieve Puk and was equally untouchable, allowing one hit and no runs over his three and one third innings of work.

Waterloo tallied nine hits over the course of the night, with John Sternagel and Connor McClain having two each. Five other Bucks recorded hits over the seven inning match.

The Bucks travel to Eau Claire next for a two game series against the Express before returning home for a four game home stand against Saint Cloud and Duluth.
