Waterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Bucks are pleased to announce the Black Hawk County Gaming Association has approved a grant that will bring a new state of the art video board to Riverfront Stadium. The grant was submitted by The City of Waterloo.

The decision was unanimous at a board meeting held Monday to approve the city’s request for the funding. The grant, for $150,000, covers half the cost of the new video board and the other half will be funded by the City of Waterloo and the Waterloo Bucks.

Waterloo Bucks General Manager Dan Corbin is thrilled with the board’s decision. “Enhancing the fan experience has always been a goal of the Bucks, and the installment of a video board allows us to take the next step as a top entertainment option in the Cedar Valley. We would like to thank the Black Hawk County Gaming Association and the City of Waterloo for their support and vision in making Riverfront Stadium a premier venue.”

This grant approval is the first step in making the video board at Riverfront Stadium a reality. Next the city will begin work on a bid process and installation is planned for May 1, 2016.

Leisure Services Director Paul Huting says “The Leisure Services Commission greatly appreciates the ongoing partnership with Black Hawk County Gaming Association and Waterloo Bucks Baseball to further enhance historic Riverfront Stadium.”

Cedar Rapids Ball Club Inc. CEO Doug Nelson states “The addition of a video board in Riverfront Stadium is exactly what this community needs and will enable us to not only improve the fan experience at Bucks games, but also bring other events to the Cedar Valley.”

The Bucks will open their 2nd season under new ownership in the spring of 2016. A 2016 schedule will be released later this year. Season Tickets for the 2016 season are on sale now by calling the Bucks at (319) 232-0500.
