Waterloo, Iowa – The Northwoods League has named Waterloo Bucks outfielder Alex Boxwell the NWL Player of the Night for his efforts in Waterloo’s 9-1 win over the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Tuesday. The freshman from the University of Minnesota recorded four hits on the night with two RBI and one run scored.
This season for the Bucks, Boxwell owns a .340 batting average with 18 hits and 13 runs scored. A native of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Boxwell is hitting .444 with runners in scoring position with two outs.
The Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, play at Riverfront Stadium.
