Waterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Bucks have announced the date of their eighth annual “Hit for the Cycle” Poker Bike Ride.  Sunday, July 17 will be the date of the event, which is sponsored by SCHEELS, BJ’s Bar & Grill, Catherine Doyle’s Pub, Curt’s, Pepper’s Grill & Sports Pub, The Pump Haus Pub & Grill, and The Screaming Eagle American Bar & Grill.

Registration will begin at 9:30 am at Riverfront Stadium with the ride starting at 10:00 am where bicyclists will begin the ride of approximately 20 miles with stops at BJ’s, Catherine Doyle’s, Curt’s Pepper’s, Pump Haus, and the Screaming Eagle.  Riders will receive a playing card at each stop for their chance to win prizes for the best five-card poker hand out of the six cards they receive.  The Bucks are introducing a “Wild Card” stop in 2016.  In addition, the Bucks will give away prizes during each inning of that afternoon’s Bucks game versus the Willmar Stingers for all Poker Ride participants.

Riders will have two options for registration.  Option 1 costs $22 and riders will receive a t-shirt, reserved seat ticket to that day’s Bucks game, sandwich item, bag of chips, and fountain soda.  Option 2 costs $32 and gets riders a t-shirt, ticket to that day’s Bucks game, and a pass to the Budweiser Party Deck.

Registrations can be picked up at the souvenir stand at Riverfront Stadium.  All pre-registration forms must be returned to the souvenir stand or mailed to Waterloo Bucks, P.O. Box 4124, Waterloo, IA 50704.  Pre-registration is not mandatory, but order forms turned in by July 10 will be guaranteed a t-shirt.  Riders may also register at Riverfront Stadium on the day of the ride.  Download the 2016 Bike Ride sign up form

Later that day, the Bucks will take on Willmar.  Game time is 3:35 pm with gates opening at 2:30 pm.

The Bucks continue a six-game road trip this evening, facing the Stingers at 7:05 pm.  Tonight’s game can be heard on online at www.waterloobucks.com with play-by-play announcer Jared Shlensky.  The Bucks return home on Monday, June 27 to start a five-game homestand.  First pitch on Monday versus the La Crosse Loggers is slated for 7:05 pm.  Tickets are available by calling (319) 232-5633 or by ordering online.

The Bucks play at Riverfront Stadium where the team welcomed a new state of the art video board in 2016 thanks to a matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association.  Team ownership has invested more than $170,000 in improvements since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, and concessions equipment.  Season tickets, individual game tickets, and group outings are currently on sale by calling the Bucks’ Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch during the season with the Bucks by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com or utilizing the Waterloo Bucks app.
