Wacrescentini-jaredterloo, Iowa – The Northwoods League has announced that four Waterloo Bucks have been named to the 2016 All-Star Game. Those players are Jared Crescentini, Brandon Downey, Derek Hendrixson, and Adam McGinnis.  They will participate in the 2016 NWL All-Star Game that will be played on Tuesday, July 19 at 7:05 pm at Historic Simmons Field in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Right-handed pitcher Jared Crescentini (pronounced cress-in-TEE-nee), a junior from Missouri Baptist University and originally from Shawnee, Kansas, is 4-1 with a 3.18 ERA.  Crescentini has struck out 29 batters while walking just 16 in 45.1 innings pitched.

Pitcher Brandon Downey, a sophomore from Maryville University and originally from St. Louis, Missouri, is leading the North Division in saves with eight.  The right-hander has appeared in 11 games for Waterloo and owns a 1-0 record with a 0.00 ERA and 18 strikeouts.downey-brandon

Wright State University pitcher Derek Hendrixson is 4-0 with a 0.75 ERA this season for the Bucks.  A native of Centerville, Ohio, the righty has appeared in 13 games this season and has struck out 30 in 24 innings pitched with two saves.

Adam McGinnis, a junior from Western Illinois University and originally from Normal, Illinois, leads the league in RBI with 38.  The catcher is hitting .296 and is in the NWL’s top five in the following categories:  home runs (6), doubles (11), extra-base hits (17), and slugging percentage (.528).

The Bucks are in the midst of a five-game road trip, playing the Thunder Bay Border Cats tonight at 6:05 pm.  Tonight’s game can be heard online at www.waterloobucks.com with play-by-play announcer Jared Shlensky.  The team returns home on Sunday, July 10 to start a two-game homestand versus the First Half North Division Champion Eau Claire Express.  First pitch on Sunday is slated for 3:35 pm and fans are encouraged to call the Bucks’ Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633 or order online at http://waterloo-bucks.nwltickets.com/SingleGame/Tickets/SelectSeats/2594.
