Waterloo, Iowa – Waterloo Bucks pitcher Derek Hendrixson and catcher Adam McGinnis have been named to Perfect Game’s 2016 Summer Collegiate All-American Team. Hendrixson was named a First Team relief pitcher while McGinnis was named to the Honorable Mention squad.
Derek Hendrixson finished the season with a 5-1 record and a 1.36 ERA for Waterloo. A native of Centerville, Ohio, Hendrixson appeared in 28 games this season which was tied for the fourth most in the Northwoods League and tied for the fifth most in a single season in team history. In 53 innings, Hendrixson held opponents to a .158 average. The right-handed pitcher is entering his junior season at Wright State University and was named to both the 2016 NWL Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star Teams.
Adam McGinnis, now a senior at Western Illinois University, was named the 2016 Bucks Roth Jewelers Player of the Year for his efforts in 2016. A native of Normal, Illinois, McGinnis set a new Waterloo single-season RBI record with 62. The catcher finished the season with a .296 average to go along with 19 doubles, 12 home runs, and 31 extra-base hits, all of which were good enough for the fourth most in the NWL. McGinnis was named to the Mid-Season NWL All-Star Team.
