WATERLOO, IOWA- The Waterloo Bucks (5-2) plated four runs in the bottom of the second inning and never looked back in a 4-1 victory over the Eau Claire Express (3-4) on Monday night (June 5). The Bucks have won four straight games.

With runners at the corners and one out in the bottom of the second inning Tyler Bordner reached at first base on an error when the Express first baseman Nic Ready dropped the ball allowing the first run of the game to score. Two batters later, Grant Hawkins looped an RBI single over the second base bag. Korry Howell followed suit and stayed hot at the plate with an RBI single of his own making it 3-0 Bucks.

The final Waterloo run of the night came with runners at the corners as Korry Howell stole second base and the throw up the middle landed in center field. Hawkins scored on the play as the Bucks owned a 4-0 advantage after two innings.

Hunter Spencer (1-0) was solid on the mound, only surrendering one run in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Ready. Spencer struck out five batters and walked three in his second outing of the season.

All of Ethan Nichols' (0-1) four runs were unearned but he was still saddled with his first loss of year letting up nine hits and striking out three hitters.

The Express put two runners on with one out in the top of the ninth as Zachary McLeod (1) was summoned out of the bullpen to replace reliever Brandon Downey. He walked the first batter he faced but then struck out Ben Mezzenga looking for out number two. After the strikeout, Mezzenga was ejected by home plate umpire Zach Edgens.

McLeod worked out of the bases loaded jam as the Bucks held on to edge Eau Claire 4-1.

The Bucks are back in action tomorrow night , June 6 at 6:35 p.m. against Eau Claire in the series finale on when it's Tail Waggin Tuesday and Twisted Tuesday at Riverfront Stadium.
