The Waterloo Bucks (7-16) lost on a heart wrenching walk off wild pitch on Friday night to the Willmar Stingers (14-10).
Deion Thompson (2-4, 2 2B) drove in the Bucks’ first two runs in the third on an RBI double, scoring Greg Anderberg and Kevin Welsh. After the Stingers knotted it at two, Joe Aeilts and pinch-hitter Patrick Ferguson clubbed back-to-back doubles to make it a 3-2 Bucks lead in the sixth. Willmar scored two in the ninth to earn the victory.
Christian Griffin provided the Bucks with 4.0 innings of relief, allowing just one run on 2 hits and a walk while striking out 6. Michael Sebby picked up a hold after striking out 1 in a scoreless seventh.
Waterloo opens a two-game road series with Mankato on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
