It took 12 innings, 27 total hits, and Robert Reaser accidentally throwing a bat in his first collegiate plate appearance while also earning the win in relief to deliver a 8-7 Waterloo Bucks (8-22) win over the Rochester Honkers (14-17).
Tyler Sandoval (2-6, R, RBI) drove home the eventual winning run in the top of the 12th inning to give the Bucks an 8-7 lead. Trey Leonard (2-5, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 SB, BB, HR) homered on the second pitch of the game and swiped a pair of bags to help fuel the offense. Patrick Ferguson (1-5, HR, 2 RBI, BB) blasted a 2-run home run for his first Bucks bomb. Brendan Hueth had a massive day at the plate, going 4-6 with 2 runs scored and 2 steals. Tate Samuelson (2-4), Angelo Altavilla (2-5), and Kevin Welsh (2-6) posted three more multi-hit days for Waterloo.
Joshua Culliver, Anthony DeFrancesco, Connor Johnson, Eric Reardon, and Robert Reaser combined to allow just 2 earned runs in 8.0 innings of relief while striking out 10.
