The Waterloo Bucks (9-23) fell by an 8-7 final in a 14 inning game to the Thunder Bay Border Cats (11-22) on Saturday night.

The Bucks took the lead twice in extras, but saw the Border Cats storm back to tie in the 12th and the 13th.

Waterloo had 5 players posting multi-hit games, with Kevin Welsh (2-7), Trey Leonard (2-5, 4 R, 2 BB, 2 SB), Angelo Altavilla (2-6, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI), Tate Samuelson (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI), and Dawnoven Smith (2-7, RBI) fueling the Bucks lineup.

Anthony DeFrancesco (2.2 innings, 2 K, 2 BB) and Matt Perea (4.2 innings, 2 K, 2 H, 3 BB) combined to twirl 7.1 scoreless frames of relief.

The Bucks and the Border Cats continue their series on Sunday afternoon at 12:35 p.m. CST in Thunder Bay.
