A five-run eighth inning produced by the Eau Claire Express (12-13) led to a 10-9 Waterloo Bucks (13-12) loss on Thursday evening. Waterloo had led 6-1 after two, and entered the eighth with a 9-5 advantage. Despite losing, Waterloo still holds a one-game lead in the Great Plains-East subdivision.

Patrick Ferguson (2-5, 2 R, HR, 4 RBI) launched a grand slam in the second inning and was one of four Bucks with multi-hit efforts. Alex Ronnebaum (2-5, RBI), Matt Campos (2-5, R, HR, 2 RBI) and Blake Berry (2-4, R, 2B) each had two-hit evenings.

Waterloo and Eau Claire combined for 23 hits in the game.

The Bucks and the Express continue their series on Friday at 6:35 p.m. in Waterloo.
