The Waterloo Bucks (13-13) fell 3-2 in a pitcher’s duel to the Eau Claire Express (13-13) on Friday evening. With the loss, the two sides are now tied for first.

Bucks starter Zach Jones received a no-decision after providing 7.0 strong innings, allowing one earned on five hits and two walks while striking out four. The Express’ righthander Tanner Kohlhepp earned the win with 7.0 frames of one-run ball, scattering four hits and recording 7 punchouts.

Alex Ronnebaum (1-4, RBI) tied the game at one in the seventh inning with an RBI single, and Dylan Phillips (1-4, R, RBI) brought in the Bucks’ second run in the ninth on a run-scoring groundout. Blake Berry (2-3) had the lone multi-hit game for Waterloo.

Waterloo and Eau Claire continue their series on Saturday night at 6:35 p.m. at Riverfront Stadium.
