COVID-19 UPDATES | UPDATED 5/27/20

Official Statement
From Dan Corbin, General Manager

On May 26th, Governor Reynolds announced many restrictions were being lifted in Iowa, which included sports facilities. While we are very excited about this news, there are a number of obstacles that are still in place that we must address before the Waterloo Bucks 2020 season will begin. We promise to share details with our great fans as soon as possible and can’t wait to bring baseball back to the Cedar Valley.

This situation is new to everyone and we have questions just like you all do. Here are a few key things fans have been asking that we do have the answers to:

WHAT IS THE PLAN?

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have been meeting regularly to discuss the cleaning process and what needs to be prioritized during these times. Riverfront Stadium is closed to the public until further notice.

This season, we will be extending staff training to include the proper instruction to exceed the standards set by Public Health and make sure our standards are clear and met every single day.

WHAT ABOUT TICKETS?

All tickets for the 2020 season are valid. We encourage individuals who are interested in purchasing season tickets, short-season plans, coupon books, group outings, or souvenirs to do their business online, by phone, or by mail.

Gift Certificates | Anyone who has purchased gift certificates for the 2020 season may use them any time during the 2020 season.

Coupon Books | Anyone who has purchased coupon books for the 2020 season will also be able to use them for any remaining game during the 2020 season.

Season Tickets | The Bucks are treating all unplayed games due to the COVID-19 season delay as if they are rainouts.  Unused tickets can be exchanged at the Ticket Office or Ticket Window for a ticket to any other regular-season game.

WHEN IS OPENING DAY?

With direction from the Northwoods League, the start of the Waterloo Bucks’ 2020 season will be delayed.  The safety of our fans, players, coaches, and employees is of the utmost priority and importance to us.  As more details for our upcoming season become available, we will share them on our social media pages, website, and e-newsletter.

Please continue to check our website as well as our social media pages to stay up to date. Rest assured that the stadium will be completely cleaned, set up, and ready when games begin in May.

Northwoods League Announcement

The Northwoods League announced on May 7th that they were delaying the start of the 2020 regular season. With that news, some of you may be wondering what, if any, impact the current COVID-19 situation may have on our 2020 season.

The health and safety of Bucks fans, players, coaches, and staff is our top priority, and our thoughts are with those around the world who have been affected by this outbreak. The Bucks are closely monitoring the outbreak and will be in communication with the Black Hawk County Health Department, as well as the Iowa Department of Public Health, the City of Waterloo, and the Northwoods League. Moving forward, we will continue to partner with and follow the guidance of these agencies to understand if our upcoming season will be impacted.

More Information

This is the best place to stay up to date on all things related to 2020 Opening Day, action plans, ticket policies, and more. We will be keeping this page updated as more information comes our way. Thanks again for sticking with us and supporting the home team. We cannot wait for the 2020 season to begin!

The City of Waterloo has recommended social distancing, meaning that gatherings of 10 or more people be prohibited to curb the spread of the virus. With the health and well-being of our staff, community and fans in mind we have decided to restrict access to Riverfront Stadium by the public, effective immediately.
