Waterloo was one out away from victory when Makato’s Mason Hull hit a double off the wall to score two runs and walk it off for the MoonDogs, 3-2, for their first win of the season.

The Bucks struck first in the top of the first when Cameron Thompson flew out to center to score Jalen Smith, who reached by an error. Oraj Any put Waterloo up 2-0 with an RBI base hit up the middle to score Smith.

Mankato MoonDogs catcher Max Wright ripped an RBI single to right field to cut the Bucks’ lead in half. Waterloo waltz Christian McGowan to the hill to close it down in the bottom of the ninth. With two on and two out, Mason Hull, who had committed three errors in the first inning, smoked a deep drive to left off the wall for a walk-off double, giving Mankato the 3-2 win.

Christian McGowan took the loss for Waterloo. Thomas Bruss picked up the win with a scoreless ninth frame for Mankato. The Bucks host Mankato tomorrow night to start a four-game homestand.
