The Waterloo Bucks took a 1-1 game into the bottom of the tenth when Bucks first baseman Peyton Williams hit a walk-off grand slam to give the Bucks a 5-1 win against the Mankato MoonDogs.
Waterloo scored first with a sacrifice fly from designated hitter Patrick Ferguson to plate Jalen Smith. Mankato scored with one out in the top of the ninth when Michael Curriale rolled over to Bucks shortstop Cameron Thompson. Thompson made the play at first, but Dylan Phillips scored for Mankato to tie the game.
In extras, Mankato had runners on the corners and one out for Emmanuel Dean who grounded into an inning ending double-play. The Bucks took advantage in the bottom of the tenth. Waterloo loaded the a bases with two outs and put Peyton Williams at the plate. Williams rocketed a 1-2 pitch deep to right and over the wall for a walk-off grand slam to give Waterloo a 5-1 win.
Gavin Lizik earned the win for Waterloo, as he got the Emmanuel Dean double-play. Keon Taylor took the loss after he gave up the grand slam. Waterloo is back in action at Mankato tomorrow night for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch at Franklin Rogers Park.
