Waterloo fell down early to St. Cloud and never put a rally together as the Rox won 12-5 to complete the sweep.

The Rox scored two early runs in the second inning and plated an insurance run on an error from Charley Hesse at third to go up 3-0 after three. The Bucks responded with two runs in the third, starting with an RBI double from Dalton Shuffield.

The score would stay 3-2 until the Rox exploded for a five run fifth inning with only one hit where they took advantage of three walks and two errors to go up 8-2. St. Cloud knocked home four more runs in the eighth to go up by double-digits, 12-2.

The Bucks tried a late rally to no avail. They did plate three runs in the ninth inning to make the final score 12-5, but could not avoid the sweep. Josh Gainer got the win for St. Cloud with two perfect innings out of the bullpen. Nolan Meredith, Waterloo’s starter, took the loss with three runs in his three inning start.

The Bucks are tied for first with Willmar in the Minnesota-Iowa Pod at 18-10 while St. Cloud lurks only a game behind. Waterloo heads to Rochester to start a home and home with the Honkers with first pitch tomorrow at 6:35 from Mayo Field
