The Waterloo Bucks (19-10) were two-hit on the road in a 2-0 shutout at the hands of the Rochester Honkers (13-14) on Wednesday evening. Ryan McNally (1-for-3, 2B) and Josh Kasevich (1-for-3) accounted for the Bucks’ two hits, as the Honkers’ starter rolled up a double play to face just 28 batters on the night.
Ryan Duffy gave Waterloo 5.0 stellar innings of six-hit, one-run baseball while striking out six and walking three. The southpaw piled up 10 whiffs on 78 pitches while working at a 73.9% first-pitch strike rate. The Bucks’ relief corps of Aaron Treloar (1.0 IP, H, 0 R, 2 BB, K), Zach Button (1.0 IP, 2 H, R, 0 BB, K) and Curren Larson (GF, 1.0 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K) combined to allow just one run in three innings of work.
