Waterloo Bucks first baseman/outfielder Max Jung-Goldberg (San Diego) has been named the 2021 team Player of the Year after a fan vote this past weekend. Jung-Goldberg slashed .338/.422/.444 for a .866 OPS across his first 56 games with Waterloo, bashing nine doubles and four home runs while scoring 34 runs and adding 40 RBI. The San Diego product stole 12 bases at a 85.7% success rate, drew walks in 11.4% of his plate appearances while striking out at a stellar 14.8% clip. With runners in scoring position, Jung-Goldberg hit .297 with a .844 OPS and a .402 wOBA.

Defensively, MJG fielded a .990 across 109.1 innings at first base with just one error. In the outfield he committed just one error in 174.0 frames with two outfield assists.
