Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (16–20) captured their first series sweep of the second half of the 2023 season on Wednesday, beating the Mankato MoonDogs (19–16).

Pitching was the main key for the Bucks in this game, as they held a MoonDog squad that came in with a top-five team batting average to just one run on five hits. Bucks starter Korey Bunselmeyer led the way on the bump, working through 6.0 innings and and giving up just a single run through 22 batters faced.

Marcus Heusohn had another great night for the Bucks at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Heusohn finished the series with five RBIs total across two games.

Brandon Fish and Ben Wilmes also did a good job getting on base for the Bucks. Fish went 2-for-4 with a run scored while Ben Wilmes, who started in the leadoff spot, got on twice with a pair of hit by pitches and came around to score both times.

The Bucks finish off their six-game homestand with a trip to Mankato for two more games with the MoonDogs. First pitch on Thursday is scheduled for 6:35PM
