Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (20–21) extended their win streak to four games on Monday, scoring nine runs in the top of the ninth to beat the Eau Claire Express (24–17), 16–9.
The Bucks had originally jumped to a four-run lead through the first five innings, but the Express got their offense going in the sixth inning as they scored all nine of their runs across the next two innings.
Two runs in the eighth allowed the Bucks to draw closer, but their comeback attempt began in earned in the final inning. Marcus Heusohn got the Bucks up with a three-run home run to right field, then he stepped up again in the same inning to bat in the eighth and ninth runs of the inning.
Heusohn finished the game going 5-for-6 with two runs and five RBIs, all of which came in the ninth inning. Elliot Good also contributed nicely, going 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs, while Brandon Fish finished with three runs and two RBIs.
The Bucks will aim to advance their win streak to five games on Tuesday as they play the Express for the fourth straight game. First pitch for that game will be scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
