Thunder Bay, ON – The Waterloo Bucks (34–29) dominated at the plate during their final road game of the 2023 season, beating the Thunder Bay Border Cats (27–35), 19–5.

The Bucks scored 11 unanswered runs in the first five innings and added eight more in the top of the seventh to cap off arguably their best offensive performance of the season.

This game marked the first time during the twelve-game season series between the Bucks and Border Cats where the away team won. The Bucks have taken the season series, winning seven games while the Border Cats only won five.

Elliot Good and Christian Smith were the two standouts in the Bucks batting order, both recording three RBIs. Out of the twelve Bucks that had an at-bat during Sunday’s game, nine of them tallied at least one RBI.

The Bucks also received a solid pitching performance from their staff lede by starter Evan Morrison, who gave up just one earned run in 5.2 innings of work.

The Bucks will return to Riverfront Stadium to close out the regular season with a five-game homestand, starting with a game against the Rochester Honkers on Monday at 6:35 p.m.
