Wisconsin Rapids, WI – The Waterloo Bucks hit the road for the first time in 2024 but would lose a close one to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, 7-6.
The scoring for either team wouldn’t begin until the third inning in part to the dialed-in pitching from Braden Gluth of the Bucks and Nick Paulsen from the Rafters. By the end of the third inning, the Rafters would have five of their runs; then add on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to close out their scoring.
The Bucks scoring came from innings five through eight when clutch hitting from the entire lineup came out in droves. Among the Bucks hitters, catcher Zach Mazoch and first baseman Marcus Heusohn ended with an RBI, and second baseman Evan Morrison ended the game with two RBIs.
Wisconsin Rapids went to their closer to end the game leaving one runner on for Waterloo and taking game one of the two-game series.
The Bucks and Rafters play game two of the series tomorrow with the first pitch from Witter Field set for 6:35 PM
