Eau Claire, WI – The Waterloo Bucks decisively defeated the Eau Claire Express at Carson Park on Sunday, June 8, earning their 10th win on the year and snapping their longest losing streak of the season at two games with a 15-6 victory.

For the second Sunday in a row on the road, Waterloo tied its season-high mark in runs with 15, giving them three such performances on the season. The offense also banged out a season-high 16 hits, tying their performance from a week ago in Rochester.

Bennett Fryman led all batters with four hits, hitting two homers and driving in eight runs — the most in a single game by any Buck this season. With Fryman’s first home run, a three-run shot in the top of the second, he opened the scoring for the day and notched his first career hit in the Northwoods League.

Jimmy Nugent also played long ball twice, picking up three hits, scoring three runs and driving in five on the day. Ethan Rossi had the only other Waterloo RBI of the game, adding in two hits, a walk and three runs.

Grant Parker got the win to give him a perfect 1-0 record for his Northwoods League career. Eli Pillsbury tied his longest outing of the year with 4.2 IP and a personal-best five strikeouts.

Caleb Parker contributed with three hits — tying his best total for a single game all year. He also stole a game-high three bases — a new single-game best for him this season. Parker Sweeney also tallied two hits and two runs. Trey Butler and Jake Bechtel both produced pinch-hit doubles while Marcus Heusohn drew three walks, scoring three runs.

The Bucks return to Riverfront Stadium for a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games tomorrow, Monday, June 9, against the Rochester Honkers with game one beginning at 5:35 pm (CDT).
