Rochester, MN – Starting pitching was lights out before Cameron Sewell broke a 0-0 tie with a solo home run. Before the sixth inning began, the game went into a rain delay and was called after five innings. Rochester wins game two 1-0 to split the series.

After Waterloo scored first in game one of the series, Rochester got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning. With one out in the frame, Cameron Sewell crushed his Northwoods League-leading ninth home run over the wall in left-center to jump the Honkers ahead 1-0.

That was all the Bucks starter Chris Petersen gave up in the contest. He went five innings, didn’t walk anybody, and struck out two in his fifth start of the year.

The Honkers starter was just as good. Cooper Annin tossed five innings of shutout baseball and gave up just one hit, walked three, and struck out one batter to get in line for the win before rain and lightning caused a stoppage of play.

After one hour, the game was called after five innings. Rochester took a washed-out game two, 1-0, to split the series against Waterloo.

Next up, the Bucks head home to host the Eau Claire express in a two game series. The first matchup with the Express is slated for Wednesday night at 6:35 pm. Brody Zielinski takes the rock for Waterloo against Bryce Ehr of Eau Claire.
