Fond Du Lac, WI – Jack Walsh struck out eight hitters while the Bucks offense cashed in for 12 runs. Caleb Parker punched in for another three-hit performance with four RBIs, while Bubby Dosztan-Campbell knocked a pair of doubles for three RBIs to rock the Dock Spiders in game one of the series, 12-4.

After a sweep in Duluth, the Bucks offense stayed hot in the top of the first inning Sunday afternoon in Fond Du Lac. Larry Edwards singled to begin the game, then stole second and third and scored on a Caleb Parker RBI single to put Waterloo in front 1-0.

That was all Bucks starter Jack Walsh needed in the ballgame. The right-hander delivered his best start of the year with five innings and eight strikeouts and allowed just two baserunners en route to his third win of the year.

In the top of the third, the Bucks opened up their lead. Caleb Seibers walked to start the inning, then moved up to second on a single. One batter later, Parker ripped an RBI single to left to make it 2-0. After moving up on a groundball, a run scored on a fielding error to grow the lead to 3-0. One batter later, Jake Slade lifted a sacrifice fly to left to extend the cushion to 4-0.

In the top of the fifth, Waterloo kept their foot on the gas. Two walks kicked off the frame before both runners moved up on steals. Next up, Parker punched a sac fly to left to widen the gap to 5-0. One batter later, MJ Sweeney flew out to center for another sac fly to make it 6-0.

In the top of the sixth, Bubby Dosztan-Campbell ripped his first RBI double down the line to plate a run to make it 7-0.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Dock Spiders got on the board. Two singles started the party, then a walk loaded the bases. With one out, Carter Kelly roped a single to left to scratch a run across, 7-1. Next man up, Reed Strohmeyer laced a single to center to bring home a pair to make it 7-3.

In the top of the seventh, the Bucks responded with another Dosztan-Campbell double. This one scored two runs to make it 9-3 and take the momentum back for Waterloo. Both teams added on late, but the Bucks early offense and dominant pitching was too much to overcome in a 12-4 win.

With the victory, the Bucks go to 21-22 and 7-2 in the second half. Waterloo takes game one of the series and have a quick turnaround for game two Monday morning. First pitch is scheduled for 11:35 am. Cameron Saleh is on the bump for the Bucks. Fond Du Lac’s starter is TBD.
