 The Waterloo Bucks returned to Riverfront Stadium August 5 to face the Battle Creek Bombers in a double header featuring two seven-inning games.  The Bucks started the evening off with a bang winning the first game 3-0 and wrapping up the night with another 3-0 win.

Four Bucks pounded out hits to bring three runs in during the first game.  DH Jake Astor and SS Andrew Ewing both had doubles.  LF Landon Anderson got a single putting himself on the bases where he recorded his twentieth stolen base of the season.  CF Willie Argo also recorded a stolen base off his two walks.  1B Ryan Rieger (pictured)  knocked his seventh homer out of the park bringing in the single RBI for the game.  Seven Bucks were stranded on bases.

Jared Wagoner took control of the mound \\pitching his first complete game in the 2010 Bucks season.  Wagoner threw for the entire seven innings only allowing two hits and two walks.  Throwing fifty-four strikes out of eighty-three total pitches, Wagoner took down seven batters at the plate. Currently he has a 3.82 ERA.

In game two the Bucks took the reins early on, scoring their first run in the top of the first.  Three Bucks lead the team at the plate with five hits.  LF Landon Anderson and DH Jake Astor both had two hits a piece.  1B Ryan Rieger and DH Jake Astor both smashed out doubles.  Lf Landon Anderson and CF Willie Argo worked their way around the bases adding a stolen base to each of their stats.  There were four Bucks left on the bases.

Billy Barrett shook up the Bombers throwing for 5.2 innings and only giving up one hit and striking out four.  After giving the Bombers three walks, relief pitcher Steven Richardson took over.  Richardson threw for two outs giving up one run.  Matt Grabowski came in for the final two outs of the game, getting the save and closing the game.  Barrett was credited with the win and Battle Creek’s Greg Blanco took the loss.

Bucks will be home again August 6 for another double header against the Battle Creek Bombers.  Once again the double header will feature two seven-inning games.  Gates will open at 4:30 P.M. for Happy Hour.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 P.M.  The second game will start approximately 20-30 minutes after the completion of game one.
