The Waterloo Bucks returned to Riverfront Stadium tonight to take on the Eau Claire Express. After a tight battle throughout eight innings, Bucks hiccup in the ninth and end up falling to the Express 5-1.

At the plate the Bucks pounded out nine hits but were only able to score once.  LF Pat Stover (picture) lead the Bucks at the plate going four-for-four knocking a double into deep center field bringing in the Bucks lone run.  Other Bucks with hits were CF Willie Argo, DH Jordan Adams, 3B Brandon Williams, 2B Nick Anderson, and C Jeremy Lucas.  Willie Argo made his way around the bases, adding a stolen base to his stats.  Twevle Bucks were left stranded on the bases.

Taylor Massey started the night on the mound for the Bucks throwing just shy of five innings.  Giving up three runs off of two hits and striking out three, Massey sits at a 1.99 ERA.  Relief pitcher Eddie Medina took Massey’s spot on the mound closing out the fifth inning and pitching into the seventh.  Giving up three hits but keeping the Express scoreless, Medina gave up the mound to closer Cody Johnson.  Johnson closed the game giving up three runs off of four hits.  Massey was given the loss, taking his record to 5-3.

The Bucks are at home again Sunday, August 15 against the Express for Casey’s General Store Fun Day Sunday.  It’s also Fan Appreciation Day where prizes will be given away all game long.  Gates will open at 5:30 P.M. and first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 P.M.
