The Waterloo Bucks stopped the Eau Claire Express dead in their tracks on Sunday, August 15 after a back and forth battle for the lead.  After falling behind by two in the top of the eighth, the Bucks rallied back for the win, scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth taking a 5-4 lead and the win.

Scoring five runs off of eight hits, the Bucks were lead at the plate by 3B Brandon Williams (pictured).  Williams pounded out two hits, a double and a triple, bringing in two runs and scoring once.  RF Landon Anderson gave the Bucks multiple hits going two-for-three with two stolen bases and one run scored.  SS Andrew Ewing also cranked out two singles and an RBI.  Other Bucks with hits were CF Willie Argo and C Jonathan Crist.

Starting pitcher Paul Twining carried the Bucks through seven innings allowing only one run off of three hits and taking down five batters at the plate.  Matt Grabowski came in for relief in the eighth inning allowing three runs off of two hits but was credited with the win after the Bucks closed the eighth inning with the lead.  All-Star closer Luke Putz finished the game allowing only one hit and making the winning catch to end the game.  Putz was given the save.

The Bucks will wrap up the 2010 season at home against the Eau Claire Express, Monday, August 16.  Gates will open at 5:30 P.M. for Buck Night featuring $1 hot dogs, $1 fountain sodas and $1 popcorn.  $1 admission coupons are available from Pita Pit and ROCK 108.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 P.M.  At the end of the game stick around for the final firework extravaganza of the summer.
