Willmar, MN – The Waterloo Bucks (32–26) travelled north to Willmar on Saturday and took their first of two games over the Stingers (41–16), 6–2.

The Bucks wasted no time pulling ahead in the first inning, scoring four runs to get a lead they would hold for the entire game.

Waterloo was led at the plate by their nine hole hitter Ben Gallaher who, in addition to hitting his first home run of the season, went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

The Bucks also flashed another brilliant pitching performance, holding one of the league’s best offensive team in the Stingers to just two runs on three hit.

Diego Cardenas, making first start of the season in just his second game with the Bucks, pitched three shut-out innings through the early part of the game. The bullpen followed suit to keep the Stingers quiet all evening long.

The Bucks will go for the sweep on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
