Fans of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters will be getting a new addition to Witter Field this upcoming 2010 season. The City of Wisconsin Rapids is installing 235 seats from the original Milwaukee County Stadium which will be called the “Solarus Founders Club”. Solarus, a central Wisconsin based internet and telephone services company, will be the title partner for this exciting addition.
The all-inclusive Solarus Founders Club will not only provide a historic seat for each Rafters game, but will offer various other opportunities. The newly installed seating will be offered in either full or half-season packages. The seats will also include, but are not limited to:
•- A vote every four years as to whether or not the current GM of the team will keep their job
•- All you can eat and drink ballpark food and beverages thru the end of the fifth inning
•- Complimentary tickets to all Rafters road games
•- Invitations to VIP functions including private batting practice sessions at the park
Wisconsin Rapids General Manager, Liz Kern, said, “The City is very excited about the new addition to Witter Field. When we started the team we wanted to come up with something fun and exciting. We thought the addition of the County Stadium seats to Witter field would be a great improvement and decided to offer the All-You-Can-Eat and Drink option to make them even more appealing.”
The response to the seating addition has been very promising. Over 65% of the Solarus Founders Club seating has been sold in only 3 full months into the sales season. Kern added, “We are continuing to sell ticket packages for the Founders Club and hope this excitement keeps going throughout the season.”
“We are excited about the opportunity to sponsor a promotion such as the installation of the Milwaukee County Stadium seats for the Rafters,” a spokesperson for Solarus said. “The concept is very creative and believe the citizens of Wisconsin Rapids will also agree.”
Rafters’ Team President Vern Stenman see this as another in a long tradition of fan-friendly concepts.
“The Northwoods League has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to hospitality for our fans,” Stenman said. “I think the Solarus Founders Club, with it’s combination of great hospitality and one of the best views in the entire Northwoods League, is the next step in evolution of how we take care of our fans.”
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters open up their season on June 2nd in Waterloo, IA against the Bucks. Their home opener is June 6th against the Eau Claire Express at 6:05 CDT.
