Ben Jungers (Minnesota Duluth) was impressive on the mound Saturday night at Wade Stadium.
Consiglio Earns Wins for Stingers
Anthony Consiglio (Western Nevada College) registered his 2nd win of the season Friday night as he beat the St. Cloud River Bats at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud. Consiglio threw 6.0 innings of three hit baseball while not allowing any runs. Consiglio has pitched 11.0 innings this summer and is yet to allow an earned run.
Guerrero Throws Gem for MoonDogs
Abel Guerrero (Galveston CC) was dominant in his 2nd start of the season for the Mankato MoonDogs Thursday night. Guerrero improved his record to 2-0 as he threw 7.0 scoreless innings while striking out six Beetles. Guerrero was recently drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 36th round of the 2011 MLB Draft. Guerrero now has a 1.50 earned run average in 12.0 innings pitched.
Forjet Pitches Lunkers to Victory
Jason Forjet, a right-handed pitcher for the Brainerd Lunkers, earned the win Wednesday night against the St. Cloud River Bats.
Douthit Dominant for Rafters
Brad Douthit (USC) of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters was dominant Tuesday night against the Waterloo Bucks. The 6'3'' lefty threw 8.0 innings of four hit, one run baseball. Douthit even his 2011 record at 1-1 with the victory and currently has a 2.57 earned run average.
Effertz Effective for Mallards
Joel Effertz (Madison College) threw a four hitter in 6.2 innings of work to help the Mallards beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 3-1 at Athletic Park in Wausau, WI on Monday night. Effertz struck out nine Woodchuck batters while only walking one. The 6'3'' right-handed pitcher returns to Madison for his 2nd season with team. The hard throwing righty transferred from the University of Arizona to Madison College this past year.
Taylor Throws Complete Game
Logan Taylor (Northeast Texas) threw a complete game on Sunday night against the St. Cloud River Bats. Taylor threw 9.0 innings and only allowed three runs on seven hits. The Tulsa, OK native struck out four River Bats and is now 1-0 with a 1.00 earned run average.
Bradshaw Effective for Bulldogs
Drew Bradshaw (San Jose State) helped the Green Bay Bullfrogs to victory Saturday night. The 6'0'' right-handed pitcher threw 6.2 innings of one run baseball. Bradshaw has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen in his two-year San Jose State career finishing 2011 with a 7.92 ERA in five appearances.
Collins Cashes in for Madison
Cash Collins (Wofford) threw a two hitter through 6.0 innings in his 1st start of the season for the Madison Mallards. Collins struck out seven Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the the 6-0 win. Collins, a Barnwell, SC native, set a career high in wins, ERA, starts, innings pitched, and strikeouts this season for Wofford.
Burgess Earns Win for Mallards
Chris Burgess (Blackhawk CC) was impressive in his 1st start of the season for the Madison Mallards. The West Chicago, IL native threw 7.0 innings of five hit baseball while striking out eight Rafters. The right handed pitcher had a very successful 2011 campaign with Blackhawk Community College who finished the season with a 44-9 record. Burgess had 65 strike outs in 52.1 innings pitched this season.

Cardenas Calms Honkers Offense
Felix Cardenas (Texas Permian Basin) guided the Express to a 2010 NWL Championship. The 6'1'' lefty used an assortment of pitches to keep the Honkers off balance and only allowed five hits through 7.0 scoreless innings. The Honkers came into the game scoring 11 runs last night, but Cardenas struck out three and let his error-free defense make plays behind him. Cardenas earns his 6th win of the season and 1st in the Playoffs.
