ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Rox (38-24) took down the Badlands Big Sticks (29-34) 5-4 on Saturday and will finish the series on Sunday to continue the three-game homestand.

Colton Rother (University of Kansas) sparked the offense in the bottom of the third with a two-run single for the first Rox hit of the game. Rother later reached home on a wild throw from the outfield to give St. Cloud a 3-0 lead.

With runners on the corners in the bottom of the fifth inning, both runners took off to cause confusion for the Badlands defense. Brett Griffiths (Ball State University) made it home on the double steal to extend the advantage to four.

Defensively, Brandon Pelechowicz (American River CC) pitched the first 5.1 innings without allowing a run in his third start of the season.

Jackson Akin (University of Minnesota) added to the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh with a sacrifice fly to make the score 5-1.

JR Tollett (University of Louisiana-Lafayette) delivered the final out on the mound for the Rox to put an end to a Big Sticks rally and secure the St. Cloud victory.

The Rox finish the home series against the Badlands Big Sticks on Sunday at 4:05 PM for game two of the homestand.

The All-Star Trophy and Awards Star of the Game is Colton Rother.

The next Rox home game is Sunday, August 2nd, when the Rox will host the Big Sticks at 4:05 PM, presented by Rengel Printing. There will be a Team Poster Giveaway for all fans, and it will be a Coborn’s Kids Day where kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game and get autographs on the field.

The 2026 season is presented by Eide Chrysler St. Cloud.
