Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks (4–9) dropped the first game of their four-game homestand on Saturday to the Willmar Stingers (9–2), 9–0.

The Stingers opened up the scoring in the top of the third when Stone Miyao scored on a steal attempt from teammate Kevin Fitzer. In the next inning, the Stingers widened the gap with a home run from Drey Dirksen and an RBI-single from Jack Hjelle.

The Bucks managed to keep the game close up until the sixth inning when four more runs from the Stingers broke the game open.

In addition to dominating at the plate, the Stingers’ starter Ryan Wiltse carried into the sixth inning that was broken up on an infield single from Bucks catcher Cortlan Castle.

Bucks’ starter Aaron Savary made his first start for the team in just his second appearance. Savary got through five inning, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters.

The Bucks will return to action on Sunday in a rematch against the Stingers. First pitch is scheduled for 2:35 p.m.
