The Waterloo Bucks are proud to bring back the Waterloo Bucks Summer Reading Program for 2020. With the support of The Pump Haus Pub & Grill, Peoples Community Health Clinic, and EatStreet, the Waterloo Bucks Summer Reading Program will be encouraging reading throughout the summer in the Cedar Valley.
In the last several years we have visited hundreds of elementary schools across Eastern Iowa to promote the importance of reading during the summer. Hitting the books during the summer break helps students improve their reading ability and makes the transition to the new school year a little easier.
Our reading program offers prizes and a fun baseball-themed game within the program that encourages students to stick with reading, even if school is not physically in session. The Bucks’ devotion to improving the lives of those in the Cedar Valley is reflected in our reading program by focusing on education for the younger generations. To keep everybody motived to read, we have prizes at each base (benchmark) along the way:
When the time comes to return to the ballpark, students can come and get all of the prizes they have earned at our Souvenir Store at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium.
Prizes will be available starting opening day, Monday-Friday from 10 am – 5 pm! Completed scorecards must be submitted by July 31st at 5:00 pm. Happy Reading and Go Bucks! #OurBucks
