The Wisconsin Woodchucks received a big performance from their starting pitcher in a 4-2 home victory over the Battle Creek Bombers on Tuesday night. Righthander Jonah Dipoto (UC-San Diego) threw six inning and allowed just one run on one hit and five walks with 12 strikeouts to be named the Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night.
Wisconsin will host Battle Creek in Game 2 of the series on Wednesday night at 6:35.
