Green Bay got only its second win of the second half, but it was a big one where they exploded for a 14-run victory over the Rafters. Kenosha and Lakehsore both lost keeping them even at the top of the South while La Crosse holds just a game lead over Willmar now in the North.

 

 

Wisconsin 3, Rockford 4

The Rockford Rivets took the lead in the fourth and defeated the Wisconsin Woodchucks 4-3. The Chucks got two in the second from Alex Toral (Miami) going deep. Wisconsin got another in the third, but the Rivets reached the board in the bottom half from an error. Ryan Cole (Notre Dame) cleared the bases for Rockford then in the fourth from a double which was enough to give them the lead for good. Rockford threw three relievers including Nathan Schneiderman (Dubuque) throwing the final inning for his fifth save.

Madison 10, Lakeshore 5

The Madison Mallards used a big second inning and defeated the Lakeshore Chinooks. Madison scored right away in the opening inning when David Vinsky (Northwood) hit an RBI single. The six-run second started when Jesse Forestell (Western Michigan) tripled in a run and was powered by Tyler Plantier (Richmond) clearing the bases with a triple. Lakeshore got two in the third from consecutive RBI doubles. Vinsky knocked in another with a double to start a two-run fourth. The Chinooks got two more in the seventh when Christian Boulware hit a single for two. Forestell knocked in one more in the ninth while Leon Hunter (NC A&T) ) allowed nothing in 1.1 to end the game.

Fond du Lac 4, Kalamazoo 1

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders used an important fifth inning and defeated the Kalamazoo Growlers 4-1. Both teams traded runs in the opening inning as Matt Mervis (Duke) hit an RBI single for the Growlers. Sam Hubbe (Butler) threw eight for Fondy, gave up just the one run on five hits while striking out seven. Troy Black (Kentucky) then gave the Spiders the lead in the fifth when he cleared the bases on a double. Zach Bryant (Daytona State) then threw the final inning and converted his eighth save.

Bismarck 4, Thunder Bay 8

The Thunder Bay Border Cats used a big seventh inning which proved to be enough to defeat the Bismarck Larks 8-4. The Cats got one in the second when Shane Connahan (Georgia College) singled in a run. The Larks got an unearned run in the third, but Thunder Bay got consecutive base-knocks in the third to retake the lead. Bismarck got one run back in the fifth, but Billy Cook (Pepperdine) hit an RBI double for the Border Cats in the bottom half. Connor Bock (Cal) homered in two for Bismarck in the seventh, but Thunder Bay went off for four in the seventh which was powered by Cook knocking in another run. Thunder Bay then threw two relievers to take care of the final two innings and win the game.

Green Bay 15, Wisconsin Rapids 1 (8 Innings)

The Green Bay Bullfrogs used a huge opening inning and defeated the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 15-1. The Frogs started things when Adrian Damla (UC Irvine) hit an RBI double. Eddy Gonzalez (Incarnate Word) knocked in two from a double and then Alejandro Gonzalez hit a two-run double himself. Rapids got one in the bottom half when Ty Duvall (Vanderbilt) hit an RBI single. Luke Robinson (Western Carolina) and Blaise Maris (Florida Tech) led off the second with consecutive home runs as one more came home later due to an error. Two more came home for Green Bay in the fifth, one in the sixth, another in the seventh and the game ended because of rain an inning later.

Duluth 3, St. Cloud 4

The St. Cloud Rox used a big third inning to take the lead and defeat the Duluth Huskies 4-3. The Rox got one in the third and then Nicholas Sogard (Loyola-Marymount) tied it up for Duluth with an RBI single in the fifth. Christian Jones (Washington) went deep in the sixth to give Duluth the lead, but St. Cloud got three in the bottom half. Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) capped things off in the inning with a two-run single. Julian Escobedo (San Diego State) led off the seventh a homer for the Huskies, but Finn Del Bonta-Smith (San Jose State) threw the final inning for his third save.

Kenosha 2, Battle Creek 7

The Battle Creek Bombers allowed the Kenosha Kingfish to score in just one inning and won the game 7-2. The Bombers got a pair in the second and then one more in the next inning from a wild pitch. Battle Creek got another in the fourth from an error, but Kenosha got on the board with two from a double by Will Wagner (Liberty). Roman Trujillo (New Mexico State) knocked in two from a single for the Bombers in the bottom half. Battle Creek got one more in the seventh while the bullpen threw the final two scoreless to end the game.

Eau Claire, La Crosse (Suspended in the 8th Inning)  

The game has been suspended in the eighth inning and will be finished as part of a doubleheader to nine innings tomorrow in Eau Claire starting at 7:05 PM. The regularly scheduled game will take place afterwards and will be nine innings.

Waterloo 3, Willmar 4

The Willmar Stingers got one in the eighth, prevented a rally in the ninth and defeated the Waterloo Bucks 4-3. The Bucks got two in the first from an error while Tate Samuelson (Cal Poly) singled in a run. The Stingers led off the fourth with a homer by Nic Hernandez (Cal Poly Pomona). Willmar tied it in the fifth and took the lead in the sixth from an RBI single by Shea Kramer (Utah). Hernandez drove in another in the eighth, Waterloo got an RBI ground out in the ninth, but ended things on a ground out.

Rochester 4, Mankato 5

The Mankato MoonDogs used a big third inning and defeated the Rochester Honkers 5-4. Alex McGarry (Oregon State) hit an RBI single in the third for the Honkers. A four-run third started for the Dogs with Kenton Crews (Evansville) doubling in a run as he came around to score later on. Mankato got another in the sixth from an error. The Honkers came within one in the eighth as Matt Hardy (UC Riverside) knocked in two from a double. Zach Hardy (New Mexico State) threw the final 1.1, allowed just one hit and struck out two for his third save.
