Larks Fans To See Offseason Food & Beverage Improvements on Opening Day

The team hired local restaurant owner, Shane Corenlius, as team’s Food & Beverage Consultant.

(Bismarck, ND) – The Bismarck Larks are excited to unveil upgrades to the ballpark and food & beverage experience on the team’s Opening Night, May 27. The team has welcomed over 400,000 fans through the stadium gates since the inaugural 2017 season and is determined to go above and beyond fan expectations.

A fresh, new perspective is being added to the Food & Beverage Team to enhance the fan experience this year. Shane Cornelius, Co-Owner of the popular Bismarck restaurant, Butterhorn, joined the team as the Larks first-ever Food and Beverage Consultant.

Cornelius — who has spent the last two decades providing fine dining experiences for guests in his restaurants — has put in long hours alongside the Bismarck Larks Ballpark Operations team to enhance and create food and beverage systems and processes.

“When fans are going through the lines, we want it to be a personable experience with the sound of food, the smell of a dish, the visually appealing factors and great service.” Cornelius said. “It’s about elevating the classic ballpark food experience fans already expect and making them go ‘WOW.’”

In addition, buffet times will now be measured in hours instead of “innings”. Scheels Flock Members will enjoy their ballpark buffet in the right field side of the ballpark for two hours from the time gates open. Bravera Suite Seat and Home Plate Club Flock Members will plate their meals on the third-base side of the ballpark for two hours and thirty minutes from the time gates open. This will help us to create a more consistent experience for our fans and our staff.

“We operate one of, if not the largest restaurant in the state of North Dakota 36 nights of the year,” VP of Operations, Nate Maddox, said. “Our restaurant happens to be outdoors in the sun, wind and sometimes rain. While preparing this quantity of food is not an easy feat to accomplish, we are proud of the strides we are making to create a more consistent experience for fans.”

Returning for their second year, Bismarck Distillery will once again be selling their fan favorite products like Huckleberry Lemonade and Bourbon Cola throughout the ballpark. This summer, fans can expect to receive an even bigger beverage selection from the local distillery. Bismarck Distillery products can be found at any beer outlet along with an updated beer menu. The largest selection is available at the Bismarck Distillery outlet on the First Base side of the ballpark

The CHI St. Alexius Fun Zone now has a new location. Previously located in the hockey rink, the family entertainment destination is now located in the practice area behind the outfield wall. The new Fun Zone will include a much larger place to play on grass with new inflatables, games and activities for kids and families to enjoy throughout the game. The new location will be accessible via the same gate as previous seasons.

The team kicks off with 22 home games in the first 32 days of the season. The first homestand consists of theme nights including ‘Bulletin Tuesday’ on May 28, Woof Wednesday featuring the Bat Dog from Elevate Canine Academy on May 29, Missouri River Motorboaters Night on May 30, Firework Friday on May 31 and ‘To Infinity & Beyond Night’ on Saturday, June 1.
