A familiar face is Monday's pitcher of the night- Madison right-hander Sterling Sharp, who takes home the nightly award for the third time this season. Sharp, a freshman from Eastern Michigan, boosted the Mallards to the first of two wins against second-place La Crosse in a double-header sweep.
Sharp went 5 2/3 innings and allowed just one run on one hit while striking out two. He faced just four batters over the minimum and lowered his season ERA to 2.85 through six starts. He picked up the win, snapping a two-start losing skid, to improve to 3-3 on the year.
