Saturday's pitcher of the night is Rochester southpaw Matt Kent, a sophomore from Texas A&M. Kent took a loss in a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hand of Waterloo as he couldn't get any run support.
Kent needed 91 pitches to throw eight innings and he struck out 12 Bucks. His only two mistakes were a pair of home runs in the early innings on an otherwise spectacular night as he threw four strikes to every ball and didn't give a free pass. It was his third start of seven plus innings, two of which have been losses. He has an impressive 2.33 ERA over 34 2/3 innings with 31 strikeouts.
