The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters shut out the Thunder Bay Border Cats 5-0 on Wednesday night, and they received a huge performance from their starting pitcher. Gareth Stroh (Coffeyville CC) was named the Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night, as he threw seven scoreless innings on three hits and a walk with eight strikeouts. The lefty from Kearney, Nebraska has allowed just one earned run in his first 14 innings this season over two starts. The Rafters improved their record to 5-3 on the season.
Wisconsin Rapids will host Thunder Bay tomorrow night at 7:05 at Witter Field.
