The Madison Mallards defeated the Battle Creek Bombers on Thursday night 5-4 at home. Madison's shortstop Nico Hoerner (Stanford) had a great game at the plate, as he hit 3-for-3 with a walk, three RBI and a pair of runs scored to be named the Northwoods League Position Player of the Night. He has had multiple hits in each of the last three games and four of his last five as well. Hoerner's batting average stands at .389 on the season.

Hoerner and the Mallards will host Battle Creek again on Friday night at 7:05.
