Sportscast Coach is teaming with the nation's preeminent collegiate summer baseball league on a broadcaster development initiative.
According to Mike Wagenheim, Sportscast Coach General Manager, the agreement will include a full-service preseason webinar with all league announcers invited to attend. The session will address fundamentals of play-by-play, along with life in the Northwoods League. Wagenheim will then work individually with all participating announcers during the season in order to monitor their progress and offer guidance.
Wagenheim was the 2010 Northwoods League Play-by-Play Announcer of the Year and spent four seasons in the NWL. He was behind the mic for the Rochester Honkers' 2009 championship run.
"We are happy to be partnering with someone that has the vast broadcasting background that 'Wags' has," said Northwoods League Chairman Dick Radatz, Jr. "This new initiative will give our Northwoods League broadcasters a leg-up on the industry as they continue and/or pursue their broadcasting careers.”
The Northwoods League, entering its 24th season, is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. It is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 20 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
