The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters now hold a 5.5 game lead in the South after winning number five in a row as the Kenosha Kingfish lost. The Waterloo Bucks also extended their lead in the North after their third straight win and St. Cloud dropping its second in a row. Two games were resumed from earlier this season and all of that information is listed below.

Kenosha 3, Fond du Lac 7

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders scored six in the later innings to defeat the Kenosha Kingfish 7-3. The game went scoreless for the first four innings until the Kingfish plate twice when Tim Millard (Dallas Baptist) scored on a sac fly and Connor Doyle (San Diego) hit an RBI single. Fondy got on the board in the next inning when Chris Cornelius (Missouri) hit an RBI double. Kenosha would score for the final time in the seventh as the Spiders took the lead for three in the bottom half which included a two-run home run from Brandon Wulff (Stanford). Colton Neel (Memphis) added three more in the eighth from a home run to give the Dock Spiders the eventual final score.

Wisconsin 2, Madison 9

The Madison Mallard allowed two early runs to the Wisconsin Woodchucks but settled in and won 9-2. The Chucks jumped on the board first when Trey Dawson (Chipola) scored on a wild pitch and Tristan Clarke (New Orleans) scored from an RBI ground out. Jeffrey Mitchell Jr. (California) then gave the Mallards the lead in the fourth from a three-run home run.  Madison would score four more in the fifth including a two-run shot from Angel Camacho (Jacksonville). Doran Turchin (Illinois) added to the home runs with a two-run shot in the seventh. Three Madison relievers threw five scoreless as Tiegen Jones (Fresno State) picked up the win from throwing a scoreless fifth.

St. Cloud 8, Rochester 10

The Rochester Honkers held off a late rally by the St. Cloud Rox for a 10-8 victory. The St. Cloud Rox were first on the board in the third from a two-run shot by Matthew Tarantino (Pacific). Rochester answered to tie the game from two solo home runs by Mike Echava (Nevada) and Ryan Fitzpatrick (UC Irvine). Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) added to the home runs as he hit a solo shot for the Rox in the sixth. Two more home runs came in the bottom half for Rochester for six runs when Fitzpatrick hit his second of the game and Chis Ceballos (Orange Coast JC) hit a three-run shot. Zach Zubia (Texas) added a solo shot in the seventh which was followed by a solo shot from another Fitzpatrick home run. St. Cloud stayed alive in the ninth from a two-run double and a two-run home run by Brad Mathiowetz (FAU). Garrett Cobb (Seminole State) then came in for Rochester to strike out the next batter for the final out.

Waterloo 6, Thunder Bay 1

The Waterloo Bucks only allowed one in the sixth as they defeated the Thunder Bay Border Cats 6-1. Waterloo plated a pair of runs in the fourth to get an early lead when Zach Malis (Grand Canyon) scored from a sac fly and Cole McDevitt (Minnesota) hit an RBI single. Tyler Stover (Louisiana-Lafayette) added one more for the Bucks in the fifth from an RBI single, until the Border Cats got one in the sixth. An error by the third basemen scored Colton Thomas (South Alabama) for Thunder Bay’s only run. Stover then led off the eighth with a solo home run while Malis hit a solo shot. Brandon Downey (Maryville) threw a scoreless two to end the game and pick up his fifth save of the season.

Wisconsin Rapids 7, Kalamazoo 4

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters scored early and often as they defeated the Kalamazoo Growlers 7-4. Rapids jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the opening inning when Nick Anderson (Texas A&M-CC) and Bryson Stott (UNLV) scored on an error by the first basemen. Another error in the second brought in the third run. Scott Kapers (Valparaiso) extended the Rafters’ lead in the fifth from a two-run shot, but Kalamazoo answered to get three in the bottom half. Ivan Estrella (Texas Rio Grande) started the inning with an RBI double and he later scored from a pass ball. Stott scored twice more for Rapids in the sixth from an RBI single and in the eighth from another error. Kalamazoo managed to get one in the bottom of the ninth, but Layne Henderson (Azusa Pacific) came in for the final two outs to pick up his fifth save of the season.

Lakeshore 15, Green Bay 9

The Lakeshore Chinooks outlasted the Green Bay Bullfrogs in a high scoring game to win 15-9. The Chinooks scored first in the top half of the opening inning when Nick Gatewood (Georgia State) hit a two-run home run. The Frogs answered to tie the game in the bottom half when Tanner Poole (Mississippi State) hit an RBI double and later scored from an error. Back-to-back RBI doubles in the third gave the Chinooks the lead back, but the Bullfrogs answered to take the lead with three in the bottom half. Lakeshore swung the game again in their favor with two in the fourth from RBI singles by Drake Lubin (Eastern Michigan) and Matthew Mika (Central Florida). Mika delivered again in the sixth, but the Mallards answered right back for one. The Frogs got one in the seventh and took the lead in the eighth when Alonzo Jones (Vanderbilt) hit a two-run triple. The Rivets then responded in a big way for an eight run ninth. Rylan Thomas (Central Florida) started things with a run from a wild pitch and Jacob Richardson (Southern Arkansas) hit an RBI double. Richardson later drove in another run in the inning from an RBI single. Lakeshore got four hits and the Frogs committed three errors in the inning which would end up being the final score.

Battle Creek 4, Rockford 3

The Battle Creek Bombers pulled ahead in the eighth and defeated the Rockford Rivets 4-3. The Rivets were on the board first in the second when JC DeMuri (Quincy) scored on an RBI single and Jeremy Houston (Indiana) scored from an RBI fielder’s choice. The Bombers answered for one in the next inning when Jordan Getzelman (Menlo) hit an RBI single. Battle Creek took the lead with two RBI singles in the fifth, but Rockford tied it with one in the bottom half. The Bombers took the lead for good which would go onto be final score in the eighth when Nick Walker (Austin Peay) scored from an RBI single. The Bombers’ final two pitchers threw four scoreless to end the game.

Bismarck 3, La Crosse 11

The La Crosse Loggers broke the game open late and defeated the Bismarck Larks 11-3. The Larks got two right away when Scooter Bynum (Northern Illinois) hit a two-run shot. Korey Lee (California) started a three-run inning for the Loggers when he scored from a sac fly. An RBI double and single brought in two more for La Crosse. The Loggers tacked on two more in the fifth from a two-run single. The Larks would score their final run in the sixth from an RBI single by Brandon Lankford (UNC-Asheville). The Loggers then began to pour on the runs with one in the bottom half of the sixth, two in the seventh from a wild pitch and walk and three in the eighth. The Loggers’ bullpen threw four scoreless, only allowing two hits to end the game.

Duluth 4, Eau Claire 3 (Game 1)

This game was suspended earlier this season in the top of the fifth and resumed play today. The Duluth Huskies held off a late rally to defeat the Eau Claire Express 4-3. The Huskies scored first in the opening inning when Luke Roskam (Nebraska) hit an RBI double. Luke Bandy (Dallas Baptist) answered for Eau Claire in the bottom half to give the Express the lead from a two-run home run. The Huskies tied the game in the sixth from a Matt Frazier RBI single. Duluth continued in the ninth when Jake Pries (UCLA) tied it with an RBI single and Kyle Hubbuch (North Alabama) scored the eventual game winner from a sac fly. Zach Ashford (Fresno State) kept the Express alive when he scored from an RBI ground out, but the Huskies got the next batter to strike out to end the game.

Mankato 2, Willmar 4 (Game 1)

This game was suspended earlier this season in the bottom of the seventh with the scored tied 2-2 and was resumed today. The Willmar Stingers scored right away today in the seventh to go on to defeat the Mankato MoonDogs 4-2. The MoonDogs scored right away in the opening inning when Alvaro Rubalcaba (CSUN) came home from a wild pitch. Nolan Bumstead (CSUN) tied the game for the Stingers in the second when he scored from an RBI single. The MoonDogs took the lead in the fourth, but the Stingers tied it once more in the sixth. Josh Bissonette (Baylor) hit an RBI single and Bumstead connected on an RBI double in the seventh to give Willmar the lead that they would never let go of.

Duluth 2, Eau Claire 3 (Game 2)

The second game between the Eau Claire Express and Duluth Huskies was only supposed to go seven, but the Express needed 10 to defeat the Huskies 3-2. Eau Claire was on the board first when Zach Ashford (Fresno State) hit an RBI single in the third. Duluth was then down to their final out in the seventh when Dean Nevarez (San Diego State) hit an RBI triple to score Jake Pries (UCLA) and force extras. Both teams traded runs in the ninth when Matt Frazier (Arizona) hit an RBI double and Beau Capanna (New Mexico) knocked in a run from a single. Finally, with one out in the bottom of the tenth, Rudy Rott (Ohio) knocked in Zach Gilles (Central Michigan) for a game winning RBI single.

Mankato 3, Willmar 1 (Game 2)

The Mankato MoonDogs scored three early and never looked back as they defeated the Willmar Stingers 3-1. The MoonDogs scored first in the top half of the opening inning when Logan Busch (NDSU) knocked in a run from a single. Kenton Crews (Evansville) tacked on two more in the second from a double. The Stingers got their only run of the game in the sixth when Caleb Ledbetter (Montevallo) hit an RBI single. The Stingers got 6.2 scoreless from their bullpen, but failed to put them over the Mankato. Starter Ricky Digrugilliers (Minnesota State) threw 5.1, only allowed the one run to pick up his second win of the season. Naithen Dewsnap (Cal State Bakersfield) threw the final two innings scoreless to record his fourth save of the season.
